Membership

IOSCO Members

There were 312 members of IOSCO as of January 2024. There are three primary groups of IOSCO members:

Regular members: a jurisdiction\’s principal securities and/or futures market regulators. An ordinary member may include a stock exchange or self-regulatory organization, but only if it serves as the principal securities regulator for the jurisdiction. Every regular member is allowed one vote.

Associate members: other regulators of securities and/or futures, if more than one exists in a given country. For instance, since the Securities and Exchange Commission is the country\’s ordinary member, the Comodity Futares Trading Commision  and the North Securities Administrators Association are associate members of IOSCO. Associate members are not allowed to serve on the Executive Committee and are not granted the right to vote.

IOSCO has four regional committees:

  • -Mounir Gwarzo of the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission is the chair of the African-Middle East Regional Committee.
  • -Japan Financial Services Agency\’s Jun Mizuguchi serves as the chair of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee.
  • -Jean-Paul Servais of the Belgium Financial Services and Markets Authority is the chair of the European Regional Committee.
  • -Jaime González Aguadé, the leader of the Inter-American Regional Committee, is the commissioner of Mexico\’s Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores.
